Since the EVA1 introduction in 2017, hundreds of movie makers embraced the camera technology and became part of growing artistic community of the EVA1 users. The EVA1 Club brings together the filmmakers from Europe in order to exchange their experience, share knowledge and create outstanding moving pictures.

I like working with the Varicam, but I was looking for something more compact and light in terms of size. At the begining I was planing to go with Canon C200, but than the info on EVA1 came and for me it’s especially matches good with the Varicam look. We need something smaller, that I could grab easily for the projects. So that I could sit next to racing driver 140 miles/hour and hold the EVA1. One of the key things to mention is that I shot in V Log in order to get a high dynamic range. If I am shooting in the field and I need to deliver 1080, I shot at 2K in order to crop and ability to jump into slomo. If you assign the user button to frame rate, in one button change between 100 frames and 25 frames. Ifyou have an auto-IRIS lens and Auto-IRIS set. Thanks to Dual ISO you can also jump to 2000 ISO jut to reduce the noise while shooting in slomo.

My name is Emmanuel Lakkari, I’m a French Cinematographer from Paris. I travel the world, where directors need me, for shooting commercials and narrative projects. My detail oriented, passionate cinematic look and love for anamorphic mood lead me to work for Chanel, Cartier, Guerlain, Dior, French television such as M6, TF1 and Eurosport. I also won two cinematography award in USA for a short film( “300 000KM/SEC”). I tend now to develop my career also on bigger narrative projects like feature films and tv series. I recently shot a feature film pilot in funding called “article 22”.
